- In my tropical save I only allow spring and summer, but hearing about tempest I am thinking maybe I should install it. I am planning to use traveler to take my sims someplace cold for winter though. Probably to Lunar Lakes (where I just have summer, winter, and a very short spring.) You should absolutely do whatever makes you happy with your seasons. I love that I can customize the weather to whatever I want.
- HillyPlays7 years agoSeasoned AceI don't play in Isla Paradiso. Too laggy and I love having all four seasons. Other worlds that have beaches, I keep the winter/snow because I live in Florida and live through my sims. Lol.
- ZombiePary7 years agoSeasoned AceI don't have winter in my tropical worlds, or any world where it wouldn't make sense to me. That's just how I play, but as @JoAnne65 said, it's a game, and in SimNation you can make it snow in tropical areas or have a scorching heatwave in an antarctic place if you want to. You're only limited by your imagination ! ( and 4 seasons :p )
- This is a little off topic, but I was wondering how simmers in Australia and other southern hemisphere locations play the seasons in Sims 3. In RL do you celebrate Christmas on Dec 25? Assuming so is that in your winter or summer? I know it is your warm months but do you refer to Dec, Jan and Feb as summer or winter? If you use the Tempest mod do you change the weather to fit with the southern hemisphere? I guess if you don't use that mod there's not much you can do to reflect the weather you are used to.

I lived in New Zealand for 9 years and yes they celebrate Christmas on Dec. 25 and it's summer time.- ZombiePary7 years agoSeasoned AceChristmas comes in summer here, and we celebrate it on Dec 25 like everyone else who celebrates it. It is in summer, not winter. I've never had a snowy Christmas, but being able to sit outside in shorts and t-shirt with an icy cold cocktail and go swimming is really nice. Provided it isn't too hot.
My sims have holidays whenever they roll around in game. I haven't used tempest, I'm always a bit daunted by a bunch of new settings, and I'm easily confused, but I'd like to have my sims seasons the same as my own one day. With the exception of spooky day. I'd like for that to stay in the autumn, because it's weird having it in spring when the weather in nice. It should be chilly, and leafy. - Tempest can be used to switch the holidays around to different seasons without involving the more complicated weather pattern settings. :)
Thanks for the info @ScottDemon , @Pary and @igazor :)- NikkeiSimmer7 years agoLegend

Snow's great until you have to shovel it for real. :D cheers from CANADA... :D THAT was why I moved from Edmonton to Vancouver. :D three feet of snow...every winter was not my idea of a fun time. Now I get to belly-ache about the torrential rain, every winter on the WET Coast and every spring my sinuses go frickin' insane - AHHH CHOO!!!. That and the fact that I'm getting OLD and cranky. - IreneSwift7 years agoSeasoned Ace
