The only problem I have with Romantic Interests in this game is that won't let my human (non-plumbot) sims have love affairs with their coffee makers. Disallowing that kind of romance, even if it were to be a bit one-sided, is not realistic. I wouldn't care about the cheating accusation issues if this were possible.
If a mod is made, intended, or declared to be safe for any of Patches 1.66, 1.67, and 1.69, it will work exactly the same on all three patch levels because the game files are the same among them. The only exception would be Core Mods as those verify the internal build numbers on startup and can display a warning if they are mismatched. There are only six Core Mods for TS3 in popular usage, NRaas ErrorTrap is one.
