To be fair, that was all just an act. More than one of those former "senators" have shown up at MTS since then explaining that they had to act that way and encourage toxic behavior towards players with questions in order to keep their exclusive status. It was meant to be a different kind of "awesome" player support experience that bordered on funny (I guess). That doesn't make their behavior any more pleasant or acceptable, but really quite a lot of what Twallan accomplished near the beginning was based on what that mod does, except in a much more flexible and scripted way instead of making one giant Core Mod out of the whole thing, accept it all or nothing, with only a limited number of user-configurable options. His mods were originally, in the very early days, hosted over there as well, and it's pretty clear that both developers respected each other despite their very different opinions on what the end product should look like and what it means to genuinely be nice to someone.
I used both that mod and NRaas together when I was a much newer player myself, there are ways to manage that so they don't collide, but eventually lost patience with the Core Mod's heavy-handedness and got rid of it as well. It should also be noted that while NRaas isn't exactly a hotbed of activity that would make Amazon or Google jealous these days, we are still alive, kicking, and helping players out as best we can while that other place gets something like two or three posts a year now on its forum boards. :)- AlexaKry6 years agoSeasoned AceI just can underline every good thing which you´ve already stated about Twallan!
He was so kind and patient with all kind of stupidity I threw at him in my early days of simming! I was so clueless how to use mods, without him (and later without his heirs (thank you @igazor and Chain! <3 ) I wouldn´t still simming!
I can´t even express what a life saver for my Sims and my game his mods are.
I have both statues and the bench placed in my main world to worship him. :) ;)
And I would like to thank the nice and very helpful and very knowing people at NRaas who do their best (and even more!!) to keep the high standard Twallan has set! - Cororon6 years agoRising Traveler

I don't see bullying as awesome or funny in any shape or form. "Cororon;c-17448785" wrote:

Just to be clear, neither do I. My post was meant to explain the behavior, not excuse it. And my word choice for the first adjective was meant to be a clue for those who might have no idea what we are talking about. :)- Cororon6 years agoRising Traveler

Of course. I don't want to shoot the messenger. :p I know that much of their behaviour was just an act, but few new members on their forum had done any research about the site before joining and got a nasty shock. Simmers are a diverse group of people, and some have low self-esteem and have been victims of "irl" bullying and they, or anyone else for that matter, don't deserve being harassed because they ask a newbie question or misspell certain words. I personally joined and asked a newbie question there just after Sims 3 came out, and was basically told that a certain violent act should be done to me. - kaldresh6 years agoNew SpectatorPescado's servers were an interesting place, to be sure. They certainly were exclusive - so exclusive no one goes there anymore. So... well done.
- never plays without Nraas after I tried it out. It is my boolprop substitute

same here. It should come packaged as part of the game and EA should be giving a % of their profits to Nraas- NikkeiSimmer6 years agoLegendWe’re lucky to have NRAAS as the game would be crashing every so often without. It’s made my games playable.
- God, I feel so weird because it feels like I'm joining this community when many developments and changes have already happened! Despite playing the game since 2019 I think?? I haven't ever been on this forum or the sims community before! I feel like I missed out! Been stepping my toes into CC and mods from Twallan and god I don't think I realize how much Nraas's simple mods have helped my game run smoother!!! Twallan sounds like such a cool dude, :< wish I could've been there haha.
