why cant i get my sim pregnant with a fairy and a vampire!!???

i read somewhere the even though the baby cant be mixed theres a 50 50 chances that the baby is born either a fairy or a vampire but everytime i click try for baby days pass and she doesn get pregnan...

So, my Sim got married with fairy and there is no option for try for a baby. According to your comments, these two cant have children because she isnt fairy like him?
