What you diescribe is what the creators say some of their default skins will do with the patch previous to Ambitions and Ambitions. I guess there is a conflict with a whole bunch of these default skins, but from what they said you have to uninstall the default skins, then reinstall them in the game, then put any sims you have back into CAS and reapply the skins to fix them. Granted I have no clue how you get the Sims from a household into CAS, but apparently there is a way to do it.
