Why does my sim keep getting the same adventures over and over?

Hello Simmers, I'm feeling a little stuck in the game right now.

My sim has level 3 visa in Champs Les Sims, and I want her to do more advanced tomb exploring.

Every time she checks for new adventures though, she keeps getting the same level 1 adventures over and over. She's already done the grounds keepers journal for instance, so why does that one keep coming up as a choice? She's already found the baseball in the Forgotten Burial Ground, so why does that one keep coming up? She has no interest in jogging around town, travelling to Egypt to ask a friend to shack up, and she's already done the one about finding 10 examples of Cherimola Blan to learn nectar making.  So why do they keep coming up as choices when she tries to look for new adventures?  She says no to all that because she's done them already,  and she keeps trying until there's no choices left for the day, and that's it. The next day, it's the same thing, with the same adventures being offered. So now she's stuck and can't do anymore tomb exploring .

So how does my sim get more advanced level 3 adventures?

Thanks! I appreciate any suggestions anyone might have.

  • spankenstein89  Your sim shouldn't get any of the one-off adventures she's already completed.  Some are repeatable, like delivering bottles of nectar, but the ones you've listed are not.

Do you have NRaas Traveler installed?  That fixes certain issues with adventures, although it wouldn't fix the game not knowing that your sim has completed these tasks at all.  Did you switch households at some point, or did your sim?  Did you ever use NRaas DebugEnabler to choose a certain adventure task?

At this point, it would be useful to see what the game "knows" about the adventures your sim has completed.  If you have NRaas MasterController, or are willing to add it, click your sim and select:

NRaas > MC > Basic > Opportunity: By Category > Adventures

and post a screenshot of what you see.  Do this in France specifically.  You'll notice that all the options are listed as True (one-time adventures, completed), Repeatable, or blank (one-time adventures, not completed yet).  Feel free to choose the adventure you want from here.  But I'd still like to know what data the game has for your sim.

  • I hate it when that happens. All I can do that I know of that I can do is go and do other things, like get a special certificate thingy so you can buy a vacation home because you've got level 3 ... Whether or not you do that, occupying yourself with other things I find makes the game give an opportunity to do an adventure without checking the board, breaking the cycle.

  • Hey spankenstein89 ... A lot have people have given you good advice, but outside of not understanding why you get some repeat main Adventures, you might have hinted why you don't get new main Adventures.

World Adventures is set up with the intent of following some Adventure lines through all the Worlds available ... And certain Tombs and Adventure lines won't open unless you visit the other Worlds and follow the line. There are tombs in China that you won't access until you go to France ... Likewise, Tombs in France connected to the storyline through Egypt ... And so on. If you are mission oriented and you just want to clear one World, or one World at a time ... That's not the way World Adventures works, and you won't be following the storylines associated with the Tombs.

Best advice ... Enjoy the Worlds, gather all you can, and meet as many people as possible during your travels. Slowly advance your exploration, and you can have a well-developed base in each World long before you ever finish all the Tombs. Buy/Build houses in each World that will make extended stays more pleasant instead of sleeping in Tombs or the Base Camp.

They don't have to be complicated builds ... Here's one I built in China that's underground, and you can only get into with a dive well. and the dive well was something I picked up pieces for exploring China. Four rooms ... No walls. windows or doors ... You can add a bathroom easy enough, if your Sim is not a Witch, or hasn't completed the Carefree, Steel Bladder, Dirt Defiant, and Hardly Hungry Lifetime Rewards ... Which are recommended before you go exploring anyway ... 😆

Your Sim isn't stuck with no Tombs to explore ... They just don't want to explore the Tombs they have to in order to get to other Adventure opportunities. If you have a few days left with no Tombs open to explore in China ... Go to the dojo and start the progression towards becoming a World Champion martial artists ... Or there's a chess tables at the dojo, where you can become a World Champion chess player calling opponents to challenge, and improve your Logic Skill if nothing else.

Challenging opponents in martial arts or chess ... Improves your relationships with your opponents. Eventually your Sim will be just as much 'at home' in another World as when they are actually at home. They'll have more opportunities to earn a greater deal of money ... And they won't be so much 'on vacation' as they will be 'jet setting world travelers'.

Sorry for being so verbose ... Just trying to share knowledge and ideas with the few of us who are still exploring this awesome game ... Happy Simming ... ❤️

While we're at it, puzzlezaddict , how does the wish to travel to China, France or Egypt with a non-active sim get fulfilled? Besides a cheat or mod. Surely at some point there was originally a way or else they wouldn't get that wish would they? Or was that wish meant to imply wanting to move that sim in first and then travel to the destination with them? Perhaps traveling to the destination and then inviting that sim over, long-distance? If they grouped-up at home first, would they follow to the adventure-world? I think I've already tried that before.

    HotBlackSand do you know?

  • DivinylsFan  I believe the wish wasn't gated to only active sims.  I've seen it in romantic contexts where my sim isn't living with the other one yet, but I've always just waited until they moved in together.

There are a lot of wishes that should probably have some kind of eligibility check but don't, for example wishing to have a pillow fight with a newborn sim.  It's one of the wishes an active sim can roll upon meeting or becoming friends with another sim, and the game doesn't limit it to sims that can actually engage.

You could of course use NRaas Traveler to travel with inactive sims in the party.
