Will this run TS3?

Hello there,
so i just got Island Paradise from walmart. So i am considering playing the sims 3 again. I have Sims 3, Generations, Uni Life, Showtime, katy perry sweet treats, Movie stuff, and more recently island paradise. What can i do to make the game be okay and not lag? i have an HP computer
  • Hi there. HP is just a brand name, they make $200 (USD) computers that wouldn't be meant to and couldn't possibly run TS3 or not more than the base game will all graphics Game Options on Low. And they make $3,000 computers that could run the game without even flinching.

Odds are that yours, like most, would be somewhere in between those two extremes. Can we get some specs on your system and start from there?

Hard Drive (size and space free)
    Processor
    RAM
    Graphics Card
  • I'm afraid that your laptop is a bit on the underpowered side for TS3 with all EPs. Its processor is U-series, which means it is designed to conserve power (electricity) rather than run graphics intensive games for long play periods, and it lacks a dedicated graphics card which will force its other components to work much harder.

The heaviest of the EPs are, in order, Pets, Seasons, IP, and ITF. Since you only have one of those and it's not Pets or Seasons, you may be okay there on medium settings at best on the Game Options. Experiences on mid-range hardware will vary and also depend on play style, size of the worlds being played, and a bunch of other factors. The game should most certainly run for you, though.

Have you tried playing with IP installed yet, and how is it going for you?
