So far I have not seen any problem with the restaurant - I have the one from EA and one made by a simmer over in the thread for the store restaurant - it is done Indian style. So that is the only user one I have had the chance to try yet. I have been busy with testing world since the dance studio came out - so have not had any chance to add or make any of my own. I have sent sims to each of the ones I have twice, which makes 4 times and all 4 times they worked as best I know as describes.
Resorts well I had not really tried any yet to stay at as I was only using self employed sims which they could not go to resorts. I see this has been fixed with the patch as well as a couple other problems simmers mentioned - but as for staying at them I can tell you most posts I have seen were all pretty positive. I did visit one in a world I was testing - which I do think was one of the EA ones just added to the world - but they did not let my sim do anything as she was not staying there.
I do suggest checking the update on the IP stuff it fixes as you can see some resort issues that are now fixed that without the patch simmers might have. I know there is info in Crinricts bug list for IP that may help to know what negatives to look for - but I say most people seem to really like the resorts overall.
If I ever get to play somewhere without testing I am sure I will be the usual know it all I tend to be - but not this time. I am the dummy. I just know yours looks fabulous in the pictures.
