I haven't had much chance to play with the new PC from the Store either, in my case mostly because I've been either building or testing. I did keep getting messages that the cook at the restaurant venue didn't show so such and so was going to fill in. Every day a different sim. :?
I think I read somewhere that if you don't give your cooks a promotion and pay raise then they quit? But I can't really say for sure that that's what was going on in my game.
I should add that my sim did not own the restaurant. I did go into build mode to set it up, though, because nothing happens automatically, you have to set up the type of food and the type of chef/cook you want to assign to each oven.
Edit 2- Oh. My. Goodness! (Shirley Temple impression, haha). Rflong, you wiped out my wish list. Yes, I already pretty much own most of the Store. :oops:
