@SPARKY1922 at this point it appears to work like a charm in Barnacle Bay. I have also refined the steps I took so will now return to Sunlit Tides and try again. Must write it ALL down - each keystroke each time I make it.
I'll video the process in Sunlit Tides as I now think I've got it. I've been mostly busy doing other things this morning but have been thinking about exactly what I've been doing and thinking of any shortcuts I may have been taking. Eliminating them seems to have eliminated the problem. Will do more testing.
