Had my own thread for this (as ceejay402 knows as they commented there), however thought i should move it here:
"Patched with the super patch (via the link at simsvip). When I open the launcher and start the process I cannot even get to the screen where you select town before it goes to bluescreen(tried it twice to make sure).
My graphics drivers are up to date, and I moved my whole sims3 file to the desktop before patching."
Should I try the advice given for blackscreen? Even though i am getting bluescreen (fatal error, system repair needed etc).
I can provide a dxdiag if needed.
