A serious error has occured while loading [world]

Hi!

I have been encountering "A serious error has occured while loading [world] error" the minute I install the Mods folder. When I try to test the game with the mods file, the error pops up on all my worlds. Creating a new save does not work either. Not sure what I should do? I have no other mods downloaded in the Sims 3 folder. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling Sims 3 before downloading and creating the Mods folder and resource.cfg file but nothing seems to work.

I ensured that the Sims 3 folder is closed when I run the game and I also tried pausing my OneDrive and my antivirus programmes.

  • @noobieheng  Please try the Mods Framework found here:

Don't add any of your own mods yet; just see whether the two sample mods work.  If they do, you can add one freshly-downloaded mod and test that too, then more if that one also works.  Delete scriptCache.package each time you add (or remove) a mod.

If you get the same error with only the Mods Framework's sample mods in place, let me know what game version the launcher shows in the lower-left corner.  Please also let me know what kind of install this is: EA App, disc, Steam, or something else.
