A washing machine

I have played both sims 1 and sims 2 and every game I've played has a washing machine. When I got sims 3, I thought it would have a washing machine in it. My sims are complaining about dirty clothes and I have no washing machine for them to wash their clothes in. I thought it came with the game. Am I wrong or is there simply no way for me to get a washing machine without buying another pack?

    The washing machine came with Ambitions. You can also buy a few on the Sims 3 Store. 

    When you go into buy mode:

    • use the sort by room 
    • Go to the bathroom
    • Look underneath the towel (next to the toilet) there should be a little laundry basket of some sort
    • Go there and you'll find the washing machine
