All my pets are black

Question

Please help!!! All my sims pets are black. I've had this game and it worked before on my laptop which had the intel dual core processor. I got a new desktop which is the Acer Aspire X axc-704G-UW61. It's got intel HD graphics and a 500 gb hard drive. I don't know what's wrong...

Also, other sim families with animals will show up and they're not black. But when I try to create one in create a sim they're black and when I try to adopt them from the shelter they're black. I thought at first it was my video card but other animals that aren't mine show up fine so that's what really confused me.
