RoseRidge - well it could be a number of things causing that hesitations you get - but I would guess it may have something to do with the link between the sunflower and the composter bin seeing the sunflower makes the energy balls for the fertilizer the composter uses for one thing and they may some how work together in the game mechanics. So using them at the same time might be the proble,. It is also possible you sim started dancing with the flower at a time it was spawning the energy sunbursts - but for it to happen every time - I would guess that isn't probably the case.
The other thought is some people complain of freeze issue using the seed identifier also - I also have not seen that but then I have only used it rarely - perhaps 3-4 times at most. But the issues could also be connected.
My best advice is to clean your caches, just in case there your files has a tad bit of corruption - but of course if you clean them regularly, that might not help either. I do know just dancing with the flower has never given me any freezes. Sorry I don't have any answers you can use. Eta: You could also try resetting the house by first moving the sims to the clipboard - save the house to the library, bulldoze the one you had been using, and then replace it on the lot - then move your sims back in. That resets the sims, the lot, and the house.
