Marie - about those roofs, some of your houses may have well been affected by the new coding for the roofs they did for seasons- as you already specified we went through the same kind of issues with Sims 2 and seasons also.
One thing that you could try is is save the house to the library - delete the one on the lot, and then place the one in the library back on the lot and see if it automatically fixes it for you. This is a way you can reset a lot. It can be done on any lot but save your sims to the clipboard first. You have nothing to lose to try it and will save yourself a lot of work if it works. But I always try that on any lot where trouble brew - whether it is decorative or even some routing issues that we can't see and it seems to fix some of them.
If it doesn't work, then you will most likely have to apply new roofs. That is always a problem in saves when ever there is new programming and codes change it can affect saves, but many times I have been able to rescue a save if I know what coding they messed with - they recoded a lot for Seasons, even clothing and other outdoor items, but so far like you I have only seen a few issues with roofs. As they were not EA's or my own builds I tried a different thing that worked for me as I already had these buildings in my library so I uninstalled them, then redownloaded and reinstalled them. Moved the sims inside to the clip boat, bulldozed the house and reinstalled the ones newly downloaded, and this time the roofs were fine. Ea also upgrades our studios when they upgrade for an ep, so it upgraded everything on the exchange that was not third party CC.
Anyway, hopefully some of that will help you sort it out with far less work or fear.
