Checksky- Absolutely do not delete them as the game called for those sims to be added to work in the booth so that can corrupt you present save - but you can definitely move them into a different house. Wait until after 10 pm where they work at the festival and the fair closes at 9 pm - then go to their house and move them in somewhere else. You might want to make sure there are enough beds where you move them. I tend to double up on sims the game moves in as it has a habit of just putting one sims in a great big house. But I add as many game made sims together as possible to free up my houses. Adding a few rooming houses that sleep 8 sims is also a good idea if you have Uni installed.
Are you saying that the game will never assign our existing sims to those jobs, but will always put pre-assigned NPCs in the booths, instead? Offhand, I can't remember which sims I saw doing it, so I can't don't recall if any of my sims were assigned or not.
I guess I always thought that if one assigned sim was taken out of the game, then the game would just assign another. I never thought of them as being coded into the game, in that sense.
What happens if members of a family I sometimes play get assigned to a booth or cash register for a new expansion/patch, because I was playing a different family, at that time? When I switch back to the family that has someone assigned to those things, will the game automatically unassign them? Or will I just "lose" a sim to a booth or cash register? And, will it mess up my game, if the sim does get yanked away from the register/booth just because I started playing that family?
I do know that when I start a new game, I always try to get the game to make all register/booth assignments in the world BEFORE I add the sims I will personally be interested (potentially) in playing. I don't want a sim spending all their time at a cash register if I am interested in having my sim interact with them, regularly. But if the assignment happens during the installation of a new expansion/patch, then I have no control over it.
Sometimes I think that the only safe way to play, until the franchise is completed and the last expansion/patch is installed, is to just simply start over with each new expansion/patch. Then, once everything is complete, start the game or world I will be playing, for the remainder of the time I have interest in the game. Sigh.
Of course, at this point, I have started over so many times that I may as well have done that. LOL
