Amjoie - No hon, you will not hurt a thing to change an assigned ones job first of all - especially if it is one of your own sims. The problem would be if one deleted a sim generated by the game mechanics specifically to fill those festival booths or anywhere a sim has been made by the game to fill a work position - it can and often does cause corruption - but you can use that sim - play that sims even give them a different job and the game will add another sim to work in that job. ... and etc
That all makes sense.
I am only confused by one small thing. I had my sim start a conversation with a sim assigned to a register/booth type "job" and had her ask about his career. He said he was unemployed, which confused me, since he was currently assigned and working a job, as I could plainly see. Does that mean if I played his household, his "job" would say unemployed? If so, how would I change it? That was why I was asking if the game would automatically reassign them if I played the household.
The other question that pops into mind: If I was able to reassign the game generated sim to a different job, would that reassigned sim still be a problem for the game if it was deleted, after being reassigned? If I understand you correctly, the game would no longer have a need to call upon that sim for coding purposes, if it was reassigned to something else that I changed it to, for a career. And the sim wouldn't be involved in any of the original game coding, since it was generated after-the-fact.
Or are you saying that the sims which APPEAR to be generated after-the-fact could indeed be from the homeless or other original game generated pools, and therefore they would ALL have original game coding, regardless? That was my concern, and why I said earlier that I wasn't sure it would be safe to delete them -- meaning it was best to just move them to different house, and be safe. :)
I am asking this only for purposes of clarification, because I would probably just leave game generated sims in their booth jobs. But someone else reading this may want to eliminate the extra population, and IF that would be bad even after changing the sim in question's job, then I want that clearly stated as a bad thing. :)
I hope I'm not trying your patience by asking these convoluted questions. I really do appreciate your clarifications. But I know the safest thing: never delete any sim the game makes, unless you use Twallen or Awesome to do the deleting for you.
