bought new world would not install
Hello I paid for content on the sims 3 store and it will not install.
For reference: I am on PC. Using steam.
I bought the world midnight hallow gold and it will not install. I hit install and when it finishes from the client I go to enter game and it tells me its not installed. When I try to install from the in game downloaded it freezes up after finishing and doesn't properly install.
The same goes for all other content I downloaded from the sims 3 site.
Please help very frustrating.
@donversace22 For some reason, Steam installs (and those on macs) are not receiving the store content patch anymore. This patch is necessary to allow premium store content to function properly. To see whether you have it, go into your TS3 folder in Documents and open the ContentPatch folder. If all you see inside is an empty Downloads folder, you'll need to download the relevant files and place them in the folder yourself. You can find the files in the link in the following post:

Since you've had freezing issues with the download, it's probably best to work with a clean game folder. You can get one by dragging your existing TS3 folder out of Documents and onto your desktop. When you launch the game again (no need to play), a clean folder will spawn with no content. Place the ContentPatch files in this folder, and then try again to download and install Midnight Hollow. If it appears to work, launch the game again to see whether the world is available for a new save. If so, you can move your saves and other content into the new TS3 folder from the old one, although it might be better to redownload any store content you have.
Even if your ContentPatch folder already has the files in it, you might have a corrupted file somewhere in your game folder, in which case a clean folder is probably still the best approach.
If you have so much store stuff that redownloading isn't feasible, feel free to move the .ebc files in your old DCCache folder into the new one. But one or more of them might be corrupted, and you could end up needing to start from scratch with another clean folder.
For an explanation of the contents of your game folder, and which files you'll want to move into your clean folder, check out crinrict's post on the subject:
