Can I download Origin and The Sims 3 Games without internet?

Ok so I don't have internet and was hoping I could still download my Sims 3 games as well as Origin if I put the discs in. I honestly hate Origin but you have to download it to download and play the games. I have to be online to download FROM Origin even though my games are already on there and the games won't play on my laptop because they randomly crash like an hour after start up. Would LOVE to play my games as I haven't been able to in months and am getting really frastruated. Takes hours to download them and I don't wanna even try and get my hopes up and find out that I can't and just be devestated over hundreds of dollars being wasted. Thanks for any replies.

Since there's a bit of confusion in this thread, let me just try and clear up how it works:

There's two versions of the Sims 3 base game. One that requires Origin and one that doesn't. Here's a guide which one is which: http://sims3.crinrict.com/en/2014/02/sims-3-base-game-versions.html

If you have the disc version of the non-Origin Version, you do not need Internet to install and play the game. You just put in the disc and go ahead.

If you have the disc version of the Origin Version, you do need an Interent connetion to activate the game. You need to make an account and verify your version on every installation BUT you do not need to download it. You can install it from your disc (run setup.exe from the disc if you have issues)

If you have the download version of either (no DVD), you need an Internet Connection to download and Install the game.

You apparently never learned the definition of "download", using it as if it's a synonym for "install". Thus, your subject line is already answering itself. No, there is no such thing as a "download" without a network. Having clarified that, I suspect that a hard copy of the Sims 3 that predates the existence of Origin may very well be able to install, the only way to find out, however, is to try, I'd say.

P. S. I see that Crinrict has documented the differences in disk-based versions very thoroughly, in two languages, and she is to be commended for the effort she has invested!

I'm pretty sure you could have said that in a nicer way and no I didn't know the difference between install and download. I guess I wouldn't have asked if I would have known now would I? Considering none of the games that come with discs say you need an internet connection but the ones without the discs do say you need internet connection. It takes like a half hour of trying to download before it even says I can't (happened before when I was having PC issues). So I wanted to ask before just doing it and wasting time.

But anyways no you do need an internet connection to download them ;o because you have to access the origin website to download it since you can't just pull it up from your computer :3 be awesome if you could tho!! xD

That reference from Crinrict is really a thing of beauty. It looks like he (sorry about that - "she") put a lot of work into his Blog, which includes many features such as the one above.

Crin this is what the older version looks like in download version and I still cant bypass the launcher and origin. This version is dated June 2010, My hard disc has the plubobs all over it and looks diffrent than the download version

Yes, that's the old version (new version is sept 2012 or newer.

I think your case is a bit special since you have both version on the same account. Something is not right for you but that does not mean, it's the same issue for everyone else.

I have both versions and have done many self-tests (mine are not on the same account though)

How long have you had origin in your computer? Yours maybe working because you have an old install of origin that you keep updated. Everyone I have spoken to with my same issue just did a new install of the game and origin including myself. Two weeks ago I was still playing my old game I had since Aug 2013. It had an older version of origin that was kept updated and I had no problems with origin. I could bypass the launcer and origin to get in the game. Its something to do with a newer version of origin

Not sure but not too long since I did several reinstalls of Origin as well (just to try stuff).

I can uninstall Origin and redownload and try that tomorrow with my old version.

So far in all the threads here, they all seem to have the new version only so it's not really comparable, Not sure who else you talked too.
