ijimerson If Sims 3 opens at all on your computer, you're running the 64-bit version. The 32-bit version's installer wouldn't even run, let alone the game.
For the freezing, please try a new save in Sunset Valley and let me know how it runs. Please also list the full specs of your Mac: everything under About This Mac including the OS and except for the serial number.
