Cannot create a new game, please help!

I have been fed up with my sims3 game and decided to come here. So it all started when I haven't played the sims in a few months. I log in, the launcher and everything works perfectly. I hit 'create a new world,' choose sunset valley. I create the family and choose a house to start off in. Then, this is where my issue is. I click the checkmark to start the game, and it turns grey like normal. Except, The game sits on the choose a house screen, and I can still scroll around like normal. I have tried different families, different towns, and the exact thing happens! I had cc and mods, so I uninstalled everything, and tried again.... Sill stuck... I uninstalled the entire game, reset the settings, used no ep's or cc or mods, and the freshly installed game still will not work.

I am at a loss for what to do next.. I really love playing the sims, especially with all the money I have spent on ep's, so I really don't want to switch to Sims 4. I really hope there is a fix for this, please help!

@CLCPixel  Is your computer a pc or mac? Is your game in Origin? What is the version of your game - lower left in the launcher?

My computer is a PC, I use origin, and the game is completely up to date. I've played the sims for many years, and it has never had a single issue up until now.

@CLCPixel  When you uninstalled the entire game, did you also get rid of your TS3 game folder in Documents?  Something in that folder could be corrupted.  You can drag the entire folder out of Documents and onto your desktop, and when you launch the game again, a clean folder will spawn with no content.  Try moving one of the premade families in the bin into a new house, and play with them for a bit.  If that works, quit, reload, and start a new game.  Create a couple of sims and try to move them into town.  If this works too, the problem was likely in your old game folder.

If this doesn't help, or you've already started with a clean folder that never contained any mods or cc, then please run a dxdiag on your computer and attach the results here (use the "browse" button).
