Cannot get Sims 3 to download correctly

So I had some issues with my laptop & I basically gave it a fresh restart, which resulted in me needing to redownload the Sims 3. However now it doesn’t seem to download correctly. A load of files end in up in Game/Bin/Bin file and I can’t understand why.

Regardless the game played and I carried on as is, however in my new game one of my Sims froze and everything I did just wouldn’t get her to move. So I tried to download Master Controller but the Mods file isn’t being recognised.

I am completely stuck with no idea what I need to do to fix this.

I keep getting a message saying some of my files are corrupt and that a simple repair should fix it.

  • itsm3jade  You should have two Sims 3 folders, one with the program files and one with the user files.  The program files go wherever you told the EA App to install the game, here by default:

    C:\Program Files\EA Games\The Sims 3

Please let me know where you've installed the game; you can see this by clicking Sims 3 in the EA App and selecting Manage > View properties.

The user files are always in Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 3, and this is where your Mods folder needs to be.  But please don't add any mods until the game is working correctly in general.
