Cannot login

I used to be automatically logged in every time I played, but recently when I logged in, it said my credentials are wrong.
I tried to login many times, using the same credentials as thesims3 site (which uses EA site for login). I can login to the site with no problem, but can login neither from launcher nor from the game itself.
I deleted many cache files, including one that has my email address in its name, but nothing works.

Does anyone know how to solve this?

Cleared data from Edge, didn't Help.
My password dones't include any special characters, so that can't be the problem.
And I couldn't find the file named after my mail addres, I guess because ever since I deleted it I couldn't log in again.

Im quite desperate, any more ideas?

@kretorrbwly  Just as a test, please set up a new admin Windows account and try signing into the launcher and Main Menu there.  You'll be able to run Sims 3 without reinstalling anything, but your saves and other user content won't be available.  That's fine since this is just a test.

Make the admin account local, as in, don't link it with your Microsoft account.

@kretorrbwly  I'm really not sure what's going on here.  I haven't seen other recent reports, which makes it seem like this isn't an EA-side issue.  If it's not your computer either, maybe it's your network.  If you can, try connecting your computer to your phone, set as a mobile hotspot.  Make sure it's using data, not your home wifi.  Do so before opening Sims 3, then test signing in at both the launcher and the Main Menu.

If you use a third-party antivirus, please also test with it completely disabled, temporarily of course.  As long as you're not doing anything else at the same time, your computer should be safe.

    So that actually worked!
How did you know that? is the Sims 3 not compatible with Wi-Fi?

Is there any way of fixing this? I wouldn't want to use all my data quickly...

@kretorrbwly  My guess is that either your hardware (router or modem) blocks the connection to EA, or the ISP does.  You can powercycle your equipment to see whether it helps, but if it's an ISP issue, you'd need to hope the company fixes the issue.  You could contact them with a description of the problem, just don't count on anything getting resolved quickly.

For the data, I'd suggest just not signing in most of the time when you want to play.  There are only a few reasons to sign in anyway, and if you're not trying to earn achievements or use the Simport feature, you can just skip it with no practical difference to your play experience.  If you want to check out Store content, just use a browser window.

I have been trying to look for help for a while on the matter of not being able to log in via the apparently infamous The Sims 3 launcher. I tried everything that I found. I finally came upon this post by @puzzlezaddict where it says. "try changing your password to one that contains only letters and numbers, no special characters."

    That one worked for me.

Like all the many other players of The Sime 3 who have been banging their heads around ever since Origin's changes some years ago, I just want to say 'thank you' - not only for your sound advice but also for your patience and strength when confronted by raging gamers whom you do not know. Very admirable.

    Thanks again.

@kretorrbwly  Powercycling means turning off the device and leaving it off, usually for 1-10 minutes depending on the type of device.  (Longer isn't harmful.)  ISP stands for internet service provider, the company that you pay for internet, and some of them have blocked access to certain EA servers from time to time.  That's usually a mistake but one that only the ISP can fix.  The point of using your phone as a hotspot is it bypasses all these potential causes.

@SnootchDog  You're welcome, and thanks for the kind words.  I will say, for every raging gamer who demands their issue be fixed yesterday and/or a refund for content they've been using for a decade, there are a handful that are incredibly grateful to be back in their games and write sweet thank-you notes on whatever forum they use.  That kind of thing usually makes those of us who help forget all about the angry ones.
