I'm having the exact same problem! I cleared all my caches (as per some other advice) and it didn't work. I have Windows 8 with an AMD video card. I have the following:
Sims3 Base Game
World Adventures
High-End Loft Stufrf
Ambitions
Fast Lane Stuff
Late Night
Outdoor Living Stuff
Generations
Pets
Showtime
Supernatural
Seasons
70's 80's & 90's Stuff
and I just installed Island Paradise. I'm pretty sure that this is not the problem, as it was running badly & not showing the hair before this. Also, I seem to have "lines" on the right hand side on occasion, regularly on the startup screen. I would say this might be a video card problem, but my husband just bought this computer within the year and has already installed an updated card.
