Can't download a sims 3 pack

I just bought the Sims 3 pet expansion pack from Origin today and have been unable to download it into my game. I have the Sims 3 Starter pack, so I have other DLC that I have been able to download, ...

    @lac481  If you click on Sims 3 in your Origin game library, do you see an Extra Content tab?  If so, click on it, select Expansion Packs, scroll down to Pets, and see whether you can download it from there.

    If not, you'll need to use the EA App to download.  You may need to reinstall the entire game though; it seems a few players are unable to install new packs without reinstalling everything.  Your saves are in Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 3, along with the rest of your user content; it's a good idea to back up this folder before proceeding.

    The above assumes you're running Windows, but if you have a Mac, let me know what the button under the Pets expansion pack says.  (You may have see the pack listed more than once, so keep scrolling.)
