Can't install games in macbook

I always played my Sims 2, 3 and 4 in Windows. Now I've got a Macbook Pro 2020 32 GB and I'm trying to download my Sims 3 games, but I keep getting Error: 327682:0 when I am trying to install The sims 3. I deactivated my Kaspersky antivirus, I re-start the computer, and even re-install Origin, but haven't been able to install the game. What can I do? Please, help me.

  • @ElaMcDowell  I take it your 2020 Mac runs Catalina?  That's the issue: Sims 3 is a 32-bit app, and Catalina is 64-bit only.  There's no way around this issue.  However, EA has announced a 64-bit version of Sims 3 for macOS, to be released (hopefully) some time this year; given the current situation and the latest news from Apple, delays are kind of inevitable.  Here's the full announcement, and the latest update on the project:

In the interim, your only options are to play on another computer, to install Windows on your Mac (via Bootcamp or Parallels), or to install Mojave on an external hard drive or USB and boot into that when you want to play.  For the second option, you'd need enough drive space to devote to Windows and the game; for the third, you'd need at least temporary access to a Mac running Mojave or earlier.  Let me know whether you'd like more information about either of these options.

If you'd rather not wait for the update, you can instead request an automatic refund instead:

@ElaMcDowell  If you were to partition your hard drive and install Windows on one side, your Mac might be great for gaming, depending on which model you have.  The 16" MacBook Pros have hardware capable of running Sims 3 (and Sims 4, if you play) on ultra graphics settings.  The issue is the software, and in Windows 10, there's no issue running 32-bit apps.

My MacBook Pro is a 2017 model with a different (and slower) graphics card, and I've been able to play Sims 3 quite well on it via Bootcamp.  Sims 4 makes it run hot, but I don't really play that game anyway, so it doesn't bother me.  The only question would be whether the Bootcamp drivers work well enough, and I think they should; plus, I haven't seen any recent complaints about not being able to play Sims 3 on a Bootcamped Mac.
