Can't Install Sims 3 - Clicking Install Does Nothing

I can enter the disc in my laptop, and the installation screen comes up. It says "Sim 3" and has two options - Help and Install. I click install, but it doesn't do anything. I've waited for up to 20 m...

Yes, it's the first time I've installed a Sim game. I just bought it from Walmart. And my operating system is an HP laptop. Do you want the model name?
