Can't Install Store Content on Mac

Hello! I have been trying to figure out how to install store content on my Macbook Air for hours now. Whenever I log into the sims 3 store and hit download, the launcher pops up and I get an error that says, "Download Failed: There was an error downloading content {0}. I also can never click on the downloads button because my launcher crashes every single time. I am running the 64-bit version of this game, so I do not understand why I can't install any of my store content in my game. I have tried downloading my store content while in CAS and I still have no luck. Can someone please help if anyone knows what's going on? Is this a user error by me or is this a Sims issue?

  • b99a77017090a370  This is a known issue with the 64-bit Mac version, and sometimes there's no fix.  (It's been reported to EA, but I don't have any information beyond that.)  But sometimes there is a fix, or a workaround, so it's worth doing a little troubleshooting first.

Please move the Sims 3 user folder out of Documents > Electronic Arts and onto your desktop.  Clear the EA App's cache:

    https://help.ea.com/en-us/help/faq/clear-cache-to-fix-problems-with-your-games/

and repair the game (EA App > Sims 3 > Manage > Repair).  Then open the launcher to create a new user folder and try to download one item.  Keep in mind that moving your old user folder will have removed, but not deleted, your saves and other data, but you can put that back later.

If that doesn't help, please create a new admin user account on your Mac.  Don't link it to your Apple ID.  Clear the App's cache and repair the game again, then try to download one Store item.

  • I tried both of those things and unfortunately they did not work. I did exactly what you said for both options to try and clear this issue. I wish that this wasn't an issue for this version of the game! I know it's not your fault.

The weird thing is that I can see the store content in my downloads folder, however I'm never able to actually install them into the game.
