Can't launch the game "Service initialization failed"

I just got the base game earlier this week and I haven't been able to launch it. When I press the play bouton in the launcher, I get the black windowed screen and the error "Unable to start game. Ser...

Sorry, I meant that it's installed via the EA app, not Origin. Getting a bit frustrated with this. 
I tried doing the clean uninstall according to the link you sent - the problem remains. Will try it again and see if it works. 

Any other ideas? Thank you again for your help!
