@jkorenar Travel transitions are fragile and can break easily, as can an in-game move to a new town. So I'm not surprised that both of those broke for you.
Have you tried evicting your sim household and placing them on a new empty lot before saving them? You'd want to "save as," quit, delete the caches, and reload after moving the household and before trying to save.
If that doesn't or didn't work, try doing the same except in a clean user folder. Move the entire Sims 3 folder out of Documents\Electronic Arts and onto your desktop and open the launcher to create a new folder. Open the old folder and copy the Saves folder inside, then paste it into the new Sims 3 folder. Don't move over anything else. Load your save and go through the above process again.
If this works, you'll see a file inside ...\The Sims 3\Library that corresponds to your sim household, and you can move or copy it to wherever you want. I'd definitely make a backup copy of this file, and of the file from the house itself if you choose to save it, in case you need them later.
@puzzlezaddict I've tried your suggestion but it didn't work ☹️((( I moved my family to a brand new lot, saved, created new folder, inserted Saves folder into new the sims 3 folder, but it did not worked. Or you meant that after making new folder I should move my family to another new lot and then delete cache again ?

@jkorenar Are you willing to use mods? If so, I'd recommend adding NRaas ErrorTrap, Overwatch, and MasterController. The first to do their cleanup on their own, with no need for player input; MC doesn't do anything unless you issue a command. If you're interested in trying, you can find links to the mods and to instructions on how to install them here:
The procedure would be to add the mods, delete the cache files, load the save, wait a few sim-minutes, and use MC to reset the town: click on City Hall and select NRaas > MC > Town Options > Reset Everything. When it's done (it can take a few minutes and will show you a pop-up), let the game clock run a few more sim-minutes, "save as," quit, delete the cache files again, and reload.
If you don't want to use mods, or you try them and still can't save your household, I'd suggest splitting the sims into smaller households in a number of different combinations. (Save, quit, delete the cache files, and reload before trying to save the housholds to the library.) It's possible that only one or two sims are the issue and that you can save most of the rest, then either save the problem sims separately or recreate them. If family relationships are important, you could use MasterController to recreate the ones erased by saving the sims separately.
