I can't use any bait when I fish. I have World Adventures installed and I did fish in China when I was visiting. I can't remember if I used bait then, but perhaps fishing in another "country" started the bug where I can't use bait at home.
I've been waiting for months for a fix but there has been none. I really need to catch a death fish to revive my dead sim and it's impossible without bait. Please help!
According to answers I found via Google: "Does your fishing Sim have Special Seeds in his inventory? There were also some other things that could cause the glitch if they were in the personal inventory, but I don't recall what they are. It wouldn't hurt to take a peek and see." It's a weird glitch I haven't had or heard of, but I'm not surprised, especially it ends up being seed-related. I had a Sim who couldn't shop at the grocery store, and it turned out to be a glitch associted with a special seed in her inventory. lol....Best of luck.
