Children sims tend garden option showing?

I installed a mod where children sims could garden however I felt it was so buggy I removed it.

However I still have an option showing for child sims where it says "tend garden" on the dormant plants. The option is greyed out and it says cant tend garden on dormant plants.

I've removed all mods, started new games and always on dormant plants this option is there but greyed out. I just want to know should this option even be showing at all or has the mod corrupted my game?  I haven't played TS3 in so long I'm not sure if it's a bug from this mod or if it's intended for child sims to have the tend garden option showing at all.

Can anyone check with a vanilla game (with seasons installed) if children sims have the option to tend the garden on dormant plants ( with the message greyed out).

On normal plants it just shows view, which should be the case for dormant plants also.. I'm assuming.

  • @wexxam Thank you for your patience while I checked on this. 😊

So I did a brand new vanilla save, no mods whatsoever (except NRaas, I'm amazed at how quickly the game loaded up! 😃 ) and picked on the Bunch family in SV cause they have children. 😉

I then placed down some lettuce plants in their backyard and set the season to Winter, to make the plants go dormant. 👍🏻

Sure enough, when I sent little Ethan to "Tend the garden" it was greyed out like you said.

    See here:

So in conclusion, no this was not the result of having that "children can series" in your game, it is a common occurrance, built into the game, when the plants are dormant. Because really, who would tend dormant plants in real life in the winter because they ain't growing anything. Lol! 😉😆👍🏻 But I will say it's annoying to have weeds around your plants, and then they go dormant in the winter, and you can't send your sims to pluck up those dang things! 😬 (That was the thing in my modded game that threw me for a loop I mentioned earlier, but when I got to thinking about it...yeaaah. 😉 )

So no worries, your game is just fine. 😊 Enjoy playing!

  • @wexxamLast I saw in my game - cause it's winter at the moment - it showed the option to tend the garden greyed out on my Sim's dormant plants too. (And I will admit it threw me for a loop for a second). However, I think it's just part of the game because when plants are dormant there's no reason to tend to them 😉 so it's greyed out.
I really don't think the mod corrupted your game. But I'll get into my game tomorrow and double check on this for you. 🙂

Thank you so so much for doing this haha! Good to know it's just a bug and not just my game XD.
