@puzzlezaddict I’m very late to this party, I’ve just updated my Mac, downloaded the 64 bit version and had the same message about ‘incompatible base game” I followed your instructions and deleted the version tag file. And when I go to relaunch the game it’s giving me a blank screen with a spinning wheel. What do I do now? Please help 🙏🏼

@amyamelia91 Please move the entire Sims 3 folder out of Documents > Electronic Arts and onto your desktop, and try again to play.
If this doesn't help, let me know whether you have iCloud Drive enabled and syncing Documents. Open System Preferences/Settings > Apple ID, click iCloud on the left, and see whether iCloud Drive is checked. If it is, click Options, and you'll see which folders are syncing. If iCloud Drive is enabled, please also let me know how much free and total storage you have, and whether Optimize Mac Storage is enabled, both towards the bottom of the window.
Please also let me know whether you use a third-party antivirus or some kind of cleaner app.
