When I go to launch my newly installed 64 bit version of the sims 3 and updated packs it provides me with an error that states my base game is incompatiable with the expansion pack. Troubleshooting this issue with the ea support is not helping. Anyone have similar issue and able to resolve it?

@SSinclair90 Please go into Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 3 and delete the Version.tag file.
- 5 years ago@puzzlezaddict Hi! I know this isn't my post so if I need to delete this lmk. But I have the same problem as OP, however I cannot find the Version.tag file anywhere. I don't have any folder in Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 3, so I don't know how to solve the problem. Is there any way you could know what to do then?

@Stylikpaylinoran You're totally fine posting here. Are you having exactly the same error? There are quite a few floating around.
If you have iCloud Drive enabled, it's possible you're looking in the wrong place for the Sims 3 folder, i.e. in iCloud's version of Documents rather than the local one. To get to the local version, open a Finder window, click Macintosh HD (or whatever you've renamed your hard disk) in the left panel, then Users > your username > Documents. If you don't see your hard disk listed, click Finder in the upper left corner of your screen, then Preferences > Sidebar, and check the box next to hard disks.
