I also have the same problem, the game can't seem to handle 3 times speed or when your at a community lot with multiple other households. I've never had this problem with the 32 bit game on an older MacBook. This isn't a problem with the game, its never been this glitchy, its the 64 bit version that's faulty.
@Buy_My_Breadd Could you please post a deviceconfig, so I can see your computer's hardware and the settings you're using? It's in Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 3. You'll need to manually open the folders; the file won't show up in a search. You can delete your user and computer names, about 25 lines down, but there's nothing else in that file that can identify you.
