@JennaChristine When exactly is the game crashing: after you play for how long, if you do something specific in-game, etc.? Please also attach your deviceconfig.log, in Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 3. You'll need to manually open the folders; the file won't show up in a search. You can delete your user and computer names, about 25 lines down, but there's nothing else in that file that can identify you.
It isn't crashing exactly...it is freezing up every 30 seconds or so on my MacBook Pro and the rainbow pinwheel shows up like it's "thinking" for a few minutes. Then it unfreezes, but then 30 seconds later it does the same thing. Attaching my device log for you.
@JennaChristine Please try turning lighting and tree detail down to the minimum settings. I know the game doesn't look great like that, but it's a useful experiment. Someone else with the same issue and similar hardware to yours mentioned that those settings eliminated the freezing.
I'm having serious trouble playing at all. I've managed to actually make my sims, and have moved them into a lot, but I can't get the lot to load. It either freezes or crashes completely as soon as I attempt gameplay. Uploaded a screenshot of my system specs and as far as I've managed to get so far before it froze. I've tried repairing and updating the game in origin. Any help would be much appreciated, I've been looking forward to this for over a year!
So i’m glad that other people are experiencing random crashing w/o symptoms like lagging and computer overheating. I hope EA will provide further bug fixes and updates for us! my game crashes in BuY/build mode for some reason :/ all of my problems started when i upgraded to big sur
Does anyone know if they’re working on a Patch to fix all these issues, specially the game crashing randomly for no reason at all, no lag, not overheating, no memory leak, it legit closes out unexpectedly which is so annoying when you haven’t saved your game in a bit, I’m constantly having to save my game every 5 mins in order to play and then bam crash 😅😅
just want to be able to enjoy the game for hours and explore everything it has to offer 😭😭

Me too, I would like to know if an update is in the works to fix these issues. I mean, I understand it takes time to fix the issues, but I would feel reassured if we could get some kind of confirmation that the issues are being looked into
