I am having a lot of trouble with my Sims 3 game on my mac and I'm very unhappy. I was thinking of buying sims 4 too because I've heard it is good but now I'm not so sure.
I am having the disc authenticating failure with my expansion packs Island paradise and University life.
My game did not work without university life disc inserted and it switched to Island Paradise when i bought that.
it will not work even with my island paradise disc inserted. It tells me I need to insert it when it already is inserted. The game only tells me this once the disc loading screen is complete and i can see my saved games but the notification pops up and it quits the sims 3. I am trying to uninstall my expansion packs which i have successfully done before but now I have no sims 3 uninstaller. I am also trying to convert my disc versions into origin versions but I'm not sure how or if it is the right thing to do.
I'm sure you are all very busy but I have been wrestling with this for months now and am very angry, upset, confused and helpless.
Please help me because I love this game and would very much like to play it rather than slowly watching all the money I've spent on the sims go down the drain.

Did you:
I uninstalled the whole game once just by deleting the application from the application folder, but when installed it again it didn't work because there were some files left. So I uninstalled it again with all the hidden files etc. Then every time I installed an expansion I opened the launcher and installed the updates that popped up. And now after all the time that I wasted it still won't work....
So what do you propose? I should uninstall the whole game again and then install it with all updates done manually? I never did that, I should go get them on the website? or just install Origin and play that way (which doesn't work either...) Could you please send me some links with instructions to do it right?
I uninstalled the Sims Supernatural and all of the downloads that are connected to it and re-downloaded it but it is still saying that it can't find the disk. It starts up and acts like it's going to play but on the family selection screen it says can not find disk and sometimes asks if I want to retry and sometimes just kicks me out.
Presumably you've manually downloaded and applied the patch for the digital version of the game?
Yes. Most of my stuff is from discs and two are downloads.
