Custom content type CAS doesn't show up in the game - CAS files have different label [Mac]

Hello everyone,

I own the Digital Game Version of the Sims 3 for Mac (with the newest Patch 1.67.2 installed and working) and I got some problems installing custom content I got from thesimsresource...

In the launcher within the section downloads, all the object files I want to install are labeled as type object and all the pattern files are labeled as type pattern and appear in the game when installed. All the CAS files though - clothes, hairstyles, make up, accessoires etc. - are labeled as type "EES component" (must be something similar in the English game version) and whenever I try to install those files they don't appear in the game. The nice lady from the EA customer service hotline told me that EES component means that those files either require one of the expansion packs to work (which can't be the case here, since those that require an expansion pack are a) labeled with a big exclamation mark next to it in the downloads section and b) I've seen most of that content being labeled as CAS files and working in the basic game only before and they're also labeled as no expansion packs required on thesimsresourse) or that they were created based on some original content from the Sims 3 store. Since I don't know from which original design each of my CAS custom content files comes from and I can't spend all my money downloading the whole Sims 3 store (and I highly doubt all the people who downloaded CAS content from the simsresource own all the Sims 3 store content) there must be a way around this. Has this problem or something similar ever occurred to anyone?

Thank you so much in advance. And sorry for any mistakes, English is not my first language so those were not intended.

    Hi

    Your English is excellent!

I do not use custom content so I am not sure about this issue. I will ask the other helpers to check this thread in case they have any ideas.

I do know, however, that it is possible to install content that contains items from missing expansion packs without necessarily seeing the big exclamation mark. For example, last week I installed a world that I know contains items from an expansion pack and a stuff pack that I do not own, but there was no exclamation mark. So it is possible that this may be an issue with at least some of your content.

I am sorry I cannot help further. You could also try posting at sims3.com as there are probably many  more CC-users there.

  • Actually we can't talk about custom content here since it's not supported by EA:

You need to try and get help at TSR itself.
