Deliciously indulgent bakery

Ok how does the deliciously indulgent bakery work? I've watched like 3 youtube tutorials and I am confused. I built a fun bakery/restaurant and my sim can bake things on the bakery stove but I cant drag it to the display. If I bake at their home and put the items in their inventory then deliver it to the bakery, they can sell their home bakes. But whats the point of the stove on the bakery property if I cant drag the items baked on the property into the display? Is it just there for aesthetic, and realistically I should keep the deliciously indulgent bakery stove at my sims home?

    Spycoo16​  Can you drag the baked goods into your sim's inventory, and from there into the display rack?

    I'm also wondering whether NRaas Cupcake would help here.  I don't use the mod because I don't own the Store set, so I'm not familiar with the bugs/glitches it might fix.  But it's easy to try, and to remove if it turns out it doesn't help or comes with unwanted features.
