tried putting the cable in the wall (by-passing the router) - still the same issue. So calling my service provider. Ugghh. .. .

That fixed everything! My service provider has not even been able to figure it out for weeks why some stuff works and some stuff wont - but this fixed it! Fantastic! Not only did the download of Sims 3 work properly, but the YouTube-vids that work in my office but never at home started working without any problems! Thank you so much! 🙂

I deleted the update or canceled the progress. Quit Origin. Run Origin as Admin. Then started update from scratch. It worked.
