Dragon Valley - dragons no longer give moodlet and increase in needs no longer works

I bough dragon valley on a disc.  For a while my dragons gave a moodlet along with an increase in hunger, bladder, etc.  needs depending on type of dragon.  I do not remember when that suddenly stopped, however I have been purchasing a lot of content from ea lately and the moodlets vanishing falls into that time frame.  I thred taking all inofficial content out, starting a completely new neighborhood, hatching a new dragon, and no change.

Which makes me suspect that there is an incompatibility with sims 3 store bought items.  Which items are not compatible with dragons and how do I get this fixed?

  • Thank you.  Though actually that method wouldn't have helped, as the store doesn't seem to know I have dragon valley, even though you need to install via the store even if you have a disc.  And the disc of course won't install again if you already have the world installed - though store content certainly will (in fact that is what I had done a couple of weeks ago when I found out that you shouldn't delete the ccmerged - reinstalled all store content).
I found a ccmerged on the net that supposedly has all special content in it, and now the dragons work again.

  • Might be a messed up ccmerged.package file.

Try reinstalling all your store content following instructions here:

    • Close your game and launcher
    • Go to documents\electronicarts\thesims3 and move the folder DCCache to your desktop (this is ALL your custom content, so if you have 3rd party content as well, you might wanna just move the *.ebc files as well as the missingdeps.idx)
    • If you have any worlds installed go to the installedWorlds folder and delete all Store worlds from there.
    • Go to the DCBackup folder and delete everything in there. You don't really need the stuff in here except for the ccmerged file but since you're reinstalling everything, it will be recreated.
    • Open the launcher and start reinstalling all store stuff in groups. Don't install all in one go. Start with the worlds, then lots, then sets and single items last.

When you're done, backup the DCCache folder. If the same starts happening again, go back to that backup so you don't need to start over. Make a backup from time to time, especially after you've installed worlds and lots.

If Dragon Valley does not show up in your purchase history I would contact a game advisor
