Hey! So i managed to solve the error on my computer, the thing i did is:
- I saw what directory my The Sims 3 was installed on.
- I moved my CAW world files to the same directory it was installed.
- It worked!

Hi, please explain how i would do this. Thank you in advance.
- 2 years ago@raestacey With EA app your Sims 3 has a new directory.
1. You should "search your pc" for a Sims 3 pack, I used my newest one, ITF. ( The directory I found under programx86 is where I found CAW, but it was not the current directory for the Sims 3 with EA app.)
2.Right click to open file location. This file should have all of your Sims 3 EPs and SPs. ( My new directory is : This PC > Local Disk > Program Data > Origin > Local Content )
3. Copy and paste entire CAW file into the new directory.
4. Load Edit in Game.
IT WILL WORK! It's amazing, Dona_Neve in this thread, a few comments above this one, figured it out!
***Note: If you are 12th GEN and need the powershell script work around to play the Sims 3, you will need to launch the powershell before edit in game, but no changes need to be made to the script. If you don't know what I'm talking about, ignore this note :D- 2 years ago

Can you be more specific about these files/folders and locations, please?

What's going on is that EA app can't find CAW EIG to launch it.
Under EA app there is a new place that it launches the Sims 3/ Medieval / CAW EIG from. I HAD to search my PC to find everywhere my Sims 3 was installed. You MUST search your PC to find them.
1. Open File Explorer
2. Click on 'This PC'
3. In the search bar in the upper righthand corner of file explorer type in 'Sims 3', after a time it will bring up everywhere 'The Sims 3' is installed on your computer in a short list.
4. Two 'Sims 3' files should show up. One of those is in your old directory, one of them is in your new directory. If you right click on 'The Sims 3' on this list of located 'Sims 3' files you will see an option in the pop-up menu to 'Open File Location'
5. Open file location to "The Sims 3" If this directory houses CAW it is your OLD directory. COPY the 'CAW' file and press the back arrow in the upper left hand corner to bring up your "Sims 3" file locations again. Where you were in Step 4. (Or search your PC again)
6. Right click on the second 'Sims 3' file and open that file location. All of your EP's and SP's should be there as well as other games you play on EA app.
7. Paste "CAW' into this new directory.
8. It will work. If it doesn't you probably didn't find you new directory. I HAD to use these steps to find the new directory.
I will reword this as many times as I need to. I truly hope it works for you.

Thank you, @KetaLiren for assisting us with this. When you say "CAW file", do you mean the entire CAW folder? I pasted my entire CAW folder into the new directory, so it sits beneath and alongside each expansion folder, and loaded my world-in-progress from this new location as well, but Edit In Game refuses to load.
The path I used was PC>x86>origin games>thesims3.
All of my expansions are found in this Origin games folder. The only two things I had in my ElectronicArts>The Sims 3 folder were Create a World (w/o my saved worlds) and one Expansion, University Life.
UPDATE: I've tried to paste the created world into both Create A World Folders; the one from Origin Games, and the one from Electronic Arts. The saved world loads, as per usual, but Edit in Game just forces the TheSims3 launcher to appear, nothing else.
I've probably got a few more minutes before the EA App inevitably crashes because "Something Unforeseen Went Wrong", so I'll keep trying until then.
