Ea says I don’t have the sims 3 base game

Hello

so I recently moved my origin account to the new ea site and now I’ve noticed that ea thinks that I don’t own the sims 3 base game because I have a choice that says (buy the sims 3 base game) and then I remembered that I have the disc version of the base game… my problem is now that I bought the disc in 2014 so the code is obv old. I therefor bought the base game again but ea still says I don’t have plus the code I redeem keeps saying it’s sims 3 movie night but I contacted my retailer and they said that I got the right code to sims 3 origin. All this leaves me to my second issue which is, all items I bought in my sims game is on downloads in the sims launcher but when I download it to the game it keeps saying that I have to check if I have the latest software updates. I think the second issue is because ea thinks I don’t have the base game. Ps. (I can still play my game without problems when run it)

    Hey there @Fanta_exotic12,

Let's try clearing the cache for the EA app with these steps

If the EA app is still prompting you to purchase the base game again once you've done this, please run an EA Error Report and attach the Report ID to your post here for me.

  • @Fanta_exotic12  Please move your entire Sims 3 folder out of Documents > Electronic Arts and onto your desktop.  Open the launcher to create a new folder, then try installing a few store items into that folder.  Let me know whether this works.

If it does, you can install the rest of your store content, then move your saves and other content from the old folder to the new one.  If you need help with the process, particularly if you have launcher-installed custom content you'd like to preserve, let me know.

For the code, is this the old one or one you've just bought now?  If it's a new one, and the EA App is saying it's for Movie Night, then that's true and the retailer is wrong.  Just get a refund, and if you want to buy Sims 3 content, buy it directly through the EA App.

If you can play Sims 3 through the App, you don't need to buy the base game again, regardless of what the App is telling you.

none of the solutions worked. but i have the base game in disc version which i bought in 2014 so that code is obviously old. and the retailer i boght the game from has since went bankrupt which means they don´t exist anymore, and i really don´t want to buy a new game when i have the disc here with me. is there a way to convert my disc game into ea without having to contact my old retailer for and new game. btw my retailer is gamestop and they are no longer i denmark, where i live. i did try to contact on their american website but they don´t answer. thank you for your time.
