Just reinstalled Sims 3 with two new packs (70s/80s/90s & World Adventure), and got Error Code 16 problems about 2 hours into playing. It has now corrupted three save files, and the files will not delete. They'll just exist on the main menu as ghost records that 'cannot be loaded' due to an expansion used in them being uninstalled, even though no expansions were uninstalled. Makes the game totally unusable at this point. Anyone have any solutions for this?
@996f37af857361a8 Do all your expansions load if you start a new save? What about any Store or custom world your sims might be living in now? Please test and let me know.
Please also let me know whether OneDrive is running on this computer, and if so, whether it helps to pause syncing before playing. Right-click the cloud icon to see the option; it's either in the lower-right corner of the screen or hidden in the Tray (^ icon).
when i try to save a game in sims 3 i receive the message “an unexpected error has occurred while saving. Error code 16. Please consult the readme for details”. I have seen in this forum and elsewhere online that this is usually the result of trying to save a game that is complex/has had a lot of progression, however this occurs in brand new save files that I have just begun, families i have just created and moved in for the first time, and when saving them for the first time. Sometimes the first time I try to save will be successful but after that the error code appears. Strangely enough I recently purchased the sims medieval for the first time and I have been having the same issue with saving–like that, it will occasionally work the first time I try to save but after that I receive the error code.

Help idk how to fix this ? I was playing the game try to save and quit and it won’t let me it keeps telling me “error code 16”
@1mraerae Does this happen in a new save as well? What if you use "save as" and rename the save "test" or similar?
Please also let me know whether OneDrive is running on your computer, even if you never use it.
Every time we try to save our Sims 3 game on our Windows 10 computer we get an error 16 message. I have tried all the fixes for the error, nothing has worked and we cannot figure out what is causing this issue.
help please!! We have left the game running as we keep losing our place and it resets the game.
@80552a83233a1346 Is OneDrive running on this computer? Even if you think it's not, it could still be interfering. If it IS running, try pausing syncing, now, to see whether you can save. To see the option, right-click the cloud icon in the lower-right corner of the screen, or perhaps hidden in the Tray (^ icon).
If OneDrive is not running, please make sure your user folder isn't pointed there anyway. Search in Windows for Command Prompt, open it, and enter this command:
reg query "HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Shell Folders" /v "Personal"
Then post the result. You can write [username] instead of your actual username if you want, but please leave the rest intact.
After typing in both of those, the result is the same.

reg query "HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Shell Folders" /v "Personal"
If you open the registry and check the Personal value, as described here:
what do you see? I'm not suggesting you change anything, yet, but the above command is a shortcut to finding this value, so you can just go find it directly.
Thanks for getting back to me on this. I tried pausing OneDrive syncing but I am still facing the same issue. Any other ideas?
