when i try to save a game in sims 3 i receive the message “an unexpected error has occurred while saving. Error code 16. Please consult the readme for details”. I have seen in this forum and elsewhere online that this is usually the result of trying to save a game that is complex/has had a lot of progression, however this occurs in brand new save files that I have just begun, families i have just created and moved in for the first time, and when saving them for the first time. Sometimes the first time I try to save will be successful but after that the error code appears. Strangely enough I recently purchased the sims medieval for the first time and I have been having the same issue with saving–like that, it will occasionally work the first time I try to save but after that I receive the error code.
I have had this exact same issue, where it was playing fine then all of a sudden just showed the error code 16 all of a sudden. With every time it would only save if I made a new file, but the one I was just playing on would immediately corrupt and wouldn't let me delete it. I tried to fix it at the time with no luck which I hate cause it was really fun, haven't played at all for like a year :(
