Error with game launcher

can't open The Sims 3 because I keep getting an error with the launcher and every time it says I need Origin to play it while I just have the EA app...

shyguy16​ Megank2k​  Did you originally install the game through Origin, or the EA App, or discs?  Is this a new install, or was the game working before now?  And what game version do you see in the lower-left corner of the launcher?
