Every action I select just cancells ?!

So I was just playing on my sims game tonight and it's gone all demented, whenever I click on an action the action just cancels completely. Say my sim was making a meal she'd get to the fridge or not even get to it and an x would just come up on the list of actions it's SOOO. Annoying so now I cannot do ANYTHING on my game.
I do not use any mods and my game is on a disk.

I just don't understand why everything bad happens to MY game!!
