It's been 6 hours and still not working. This bad for people who want to start using their own sims as their avatar but are stuck to using default ones. Hope someone will acknowledge this and know what's going on.
4 hours later and still not fixed. Is something going on with Custom Sims avatars right now since the only option if didn't already set your avatar to your custom sim before it bugged is the default ones. EA-Cade or anyone. I'm feeling like it won't fix itself this time and might need someone to check on it. It's been like this now all day :(
