Solved

''Export Failed'' pops up when I try to share a sim.

In the Sims 3 whenever I try to share a sim that contains cc at all in create a sim it says ''Export Failed.'' I've tried sharing a sim with no cc at all and it works completely fine. I've also tried sharing a house with no cc and it works fine. I haven't tried sharing a house with cc though because I don't use cc for houses and such all too often. The sim I'm trying to share the most has very little cc. She only has custom hair, eyebrows, eyes, and skin. Not sure if this effects anything but I don't have and mods installed and I only have one expansion pack which is pets. Please help!

Try resetting your user files as described in the factory reset described in this post: http://answers.ea.com/t5/The-Sims-3/FAQ-Troubleshooting-Steps/td-p/714/

You won't loose anything. Just make sure to not delete any files and make a backup.

After renaming, try uploading a cc free Sim and try if that works. Do that before putting anything back.

If that works, put back your saves and see if it still works and so on.

    Put back cc last.

  • Now, whether the sim I make is completely free of cc or is wearing a ton of it, they won't export. It's the same with houses. I can only export premade sims and houses. Please help I've been trying to look for a solution but I feel like no one has the same problem so it's hard to.

  • Should I put back the DCBackup and DCCache files? Also, are there any other files I should/shouldn't put back? Lastly, should I try exporting a sim after every piece of cc I put back? Or should I try exporting a sim when I finish putting back all my cc?

Try it before putting anything back.

If it works, I would reinstall everything and not put the folders back.

They contain all your installed store and cc content. Reinstalling does the same thing as putting them back and if they are corrupted, you'll just have the error back.

  • Yay! The method you recommended worked! Thanks for the help. Hopefully I won't have this problem again but if I do, I know how to fix it.
